BIOGRAPHY
As the founder of Stevens Law, PC, Margaret has represented a wide range of clients from employees facing retaliation and harassment to victims of consumer fraud, as well as individuals in business disputes. She is often asked to act as outside counsel for small to medium-sized businesses on a range of issues, often representing them in court or in arbitration. She brings a deep level of experience in state, federal and appellate courts throughout California, and her expertise provides clients with a unique advantage: she keeps the clients’ needs balanced with the necessary legal strategies to deliver excellent results. Her victories range from multi-million-dollar settlements to dismissals in lawsuits brought without just cause. She is highly regarded by her peers as bringing both integrity and grit to the courtroom, never shrinking from the opposition.
Margaret has been recognized with numerous awards and honors including Top 100 Lawyers of California, Top 100 Women Lawyers in California, and as a Super Lawyer.
She remains committed to volunteer work, having served as the President of the Los Angeles County Bar Association in June 2016, Chair of its Finance Committee, and a member of its Judicial Evaluation Committee for nominees appointed by the Governor of California. Margaret had the honor of serving on the State Bar of California Board of Trustees alongside former California Attorney General John Van de Kamp. She also volunteers as a judge for the National Trial Competition co-sponsored by Loyola Law School and Greene Broillet & Wheeler LLP, and intermittently plays clarinet with the Los Angeles Lawyers Philharmonic.
Before attending law school, Margaret enjoyed a successful career in public relations and advertising, representing a broad range of clients from nationwide department stores and film studios to hospitals and airports.
